our vegas trip was fun
We stayed at the NY NY hotel which I had pricelined for about $100/night (regularly about $160 but you can probably get it for $100/night on discount frequently without using priceline). I was a bit disappointed to get the NY NY to be honest, the last time we stayed at the Venetian which I had liked fairly well and I was hoping to get something higher end, like maybe the Bellagio or Mirage. On our...
This morning somebody rang the doorbell while I was sleeping - as I stumbled to put on a robe they apparently decided I wasn’t moving fast enough and started loudly pounding on the door. By the time I got there the person had left and was at the end of the walk, with his back towards me, so he didn’t notice that I had opened the door. An anti-muslim and anti-gay brochure fell out of...

we found a place to live!
We’re moving to a 3br/2.5ba condo/townhouse in Erie! So excited, it’s super nice inside.
The press still thinks [global warming] is controversial. So they find the 1% of...

college applications
I’m applying to transfer to university for fall and one thing that really annoys me is that they want all of the contact info for my mom and dad? But I’m an adult, there is no reason that I should give them that information. They want her mailing address, phone number and email address. I can’t even skip these questions.
can't wait for my mini-vacay tomorrow!
We’re meeting our friends in Las Vegas tomorrow! Yay! One of our friends lived there for about 8 years and is going to show us all the secret places!
does anyone remember this comic short about Jack...
I think it was maybe alan moore or… I don’t remember, it’s really dark. Um, the lady is in jail and she is visited by her former lady lover. The lady in jail is the killer. At the end of the story she kills her ex-gf and escapes the prison. It’s totally driving me crazy.
BREAKING: Obama embraces marriage equality →
styro:
OBAMA: I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married.
Dear Mr. Obama: I love you.
Yes, thank you!
oh man, people
Last weekend I watched as a relationship imploded live on facebook, starting with a guy who changes his relationship status to single, the girl saying, uh ok thanks for letting me know, and a few hours later her posting that she was going to court the next day to get a restraining order against him and filing domestic abuse charges (at one point where he was complaining about her actions she asked...
Poached Egg on Roasted Asparagus with Hollandaise
damndelicious:
Homemade hollandaise sauce has been on my bucket list since forever, but since I didn’t have a blender other than the magic bullet, I was out of luck to give it a try. But I recently made an investment on a gorgeous looking blender so I immediately went searching for hollandaise sauce recipes.
This one is particularly easy, and requires only 5 ingredients, ingredients that...
school's out!
I had to literally show up and then immediately leave American government class today just so I would get 10 extra credit points that I probably didn’t even need. I went home and an hour later went to Logic, where I expected no one else would show - class size had gone down by at least 50% over the last month, but I think everyone showed up. I thought this was also just a check in and say...
just in case I don't get my transfer approved
According to FRCC I am a mere 3 classes from being able to graduate with an AA (which would then give me guaranteed transfer) and those classes are one history, one humanities, and one elective. I am not sure how this could be right because I think I only have around 40 hours being generous (I count it more at 35). I might also have to have 2 foreign language classes too - well the requirement is...
Now I'll just be fretting until Monday!
But I did all of my transcript requests except for high school which I need to mail in. So that’s a big hurdle crossed.
argh
I ordered my transcripts from my first university experience and they rejected it because I owe them money or something! Bummer dude. I wonder how much I owe? I’m going to call Monday to find out what’s up. I’ll have to pay it because if I don’t I can’t transfer for fall! arghhhhhh
also, my emotions
So there is a girl in my class who I have had for another class also, and if I am still at the school in Fall I will probably have her in 2 more classes. We are doing similar tracks so share a bunch of pre-req classes. Anyway I tried to add her on facebook and she was like, oh I don’t use it, and she missed a week and needed notes and I said I would send her mine (I do them digitally) and...
grades
logic, already confirmed an A, I have mixed feelings about it. actually I just have mixed feelings about all of my classes this semester except math.
college algebra, 99% sure I have an A in it, I would have had to really have bombed the final that I took today to not get an A.
bio 2, I currently have like a 93% in it so as long as I got 70% or higher on the final I am ok. I think I probably got...
omg are we ever going to get a house!!
second day of waiting to hear back about a house across the street from some friends of ours. Argh! So frustrating! The rental market is so tough, it’s depressing. I know logically that buying a house right now is not a good idea because we might have to move again for school or work, I just hate the constant feeling of rejection that looking for a house to rent provides.
(and we still own...
so glad this semester is almost over
My brain is so gone.
Just panicked because I thought I was late for class - thought it started at 11 instead of 11:30. I’ve only been going to this class since January how am I supposed to know when it starts.
And three weeks ago I was a half hour late to Bio because (again) I forgot what time it started.
I told Phil I would meet him after my class got out at 1:30. My class gets out at...
disappoint
abbyjean:
found a perfect apartment. perfect! lots of light, a balcony and a patio, next to a community garden, views of the mountains, gorgeous and affordable.
although the people would accept me having three (3) giant dogs, they will not allow me to have my cat. they will not explain why and they will not negotiate on this point.
I’ve seen this a bunch around Denver while trying to...
